Description
back in 1986, there were only two Air Jordan styles in existence, the controversial black/red Air Jordan 1 (which was banned by the NBA) and luxurious, made-in-Italy Air Jordan 2. So when MJ himself went on David Letterman’s then NBC show, he and his brand were hardly the legends they are today.
As it turns out, the interview is pretty memorable for many reasons, not least of which is the swishy, shiny tracksuit Jordan turned up in. In fact, it’s that bright red-and-blue tracksuit that has inspired a special pair of Air Jordan 1s—dubbed the “Lettermans”
His onscreen sartorial transition from preppy-ish college kid to oversized athleisure lover inspired the crimson-and-navy colorway for these latest Jordans.
